Planning for Global Coordinated Action on Late Blight
A group of 29 late blight researchers and other specialists met at the Rockefeller Center in Bellagio, Italy from 16 - 20 Nov, 2009 to plan for greater coordination in research and development aimed at reducing the devastating effects of late blight on potato and tomato caused by the pathogen Phytophthora infestans. The meeting was sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation with additional support by the Global Initiative on Late Blight (GILB). A major output of the meeting was a white paper on the global late blight problem.
